Man Shot In Austin Sunday Identified as Antoine Johnson, Police Say

CHICAGO — Two men were killed in separate Austin shootings early Sunday, according to police.

The most recent Austin shooting came at 5:11 a.m., when a man was found in the 5200 block of West Ferdinand Street with a gunshot wound to his chest, police said.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene. His exact age and other information was not immediately available, police said.

At 2:18 a.m., A 31-year-old man was shot in the 5000 block of West Van Buren Street, police said.

He was struck in the back and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

He has been identified as Antoine Johnson, of the 1900 block of South Homan Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

No arrests have been made in either case, police said.
