CHICAGO — A man was shot in Belmont Cragin Friday afternoon, according to police.

The man, whose age was not immediately known, was shot in the hip in the 5200 block of West Diversey Avenue at 12:51 p.m. Friday, said Officer Michelle Tannehill, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. Police did not know the condition of the man, or the hospital he was taken to.

Police arrested two in connection with the shooting, and a gun was recovered from the scene, Tannehill said. Charges are pending against the two, she said.

The shooting victim is a documented gang member, police said.
