5 Portage Park Home Burglaries Prompt Police Warning

PORTAGE PARK — Five Portage Park homes have been burglarized during the day and early evening in recent weeks, police warned.

All of the burglaries happened near Chopin Park, 5400 W. Roscoe Ave., police said. Three of the incidents have taken place since Saturday, police said.

The incidents happened in the:

• 5500 block of North Addison Street between 1 p.m. July 25 and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 2

• 5500 block of West Henderson Street between 2 p.m. Aug. 4 and 5:35 p.m. Sunday

• 5400 block of West Henderson Street at 2 p.m. Saturday

• 5900 block of West Addison Street at 7:30 a.m. Monday

• 6100 block of West Addison Street at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday.

The burglars entered the homes and apartments through doors and windows and took electronics, jewelry and cash, police said.
