JEFFERSON PARK — Bike 45 will ride The 606 in a fast-paced 20-mile sprint before touring playlots on the Far Northwest Side in the group’s first double-header set for Sunday, organizers said.

Riders will leave from Fannie's Cafe, 5040 W. Montrose Ave., at 7:30 a.m. after feasting on coffee and scones for the first ride, organizers said.

The 20-mile route — at a faster pace than most of the group's rides — will include all of the 606, also known as the Bloomingdale Trail.

The ride will end at the Jefferson Memorial Park Field House, 4822 N. Long Ave.

The second ride will start 9:30 a.m. and leave from the Jefferson Park field house on a tour of safe routes to local play lots, organizers said.

The ride is designed for young bicyclists who have "mastered the art of riding a two-wheeler on the sidewalk but would like to try riding on the street in a group setting," organizers said.

Adult-pulled trailers and trail-a-bikes are welcome on the second ride. No more than one or two children should accompany each adult rider, organizers said.
