Man Tried To Lure Boy Walking in Jefferson Park, Police Say

JEFFERSON PARK — A man tried to lure an 11-year-old boy walking in Jefferson Park Sunday afternoon, police said.

The boy was walking in the 5100 block of McVicker Avenue near Higgins Avenue around 2:45 p.m. when a man driving a tan colored 4-door SUV pulled up next to him, police said.

The man asked the boy "Hey what's up?” The boy ran, and the man in the SUV followed him and watched him enter his home, police said.

The man circled the block once before heading north on McVicker Avenue, police said.

Police are looking for a Hispanic man between 30 and 40 years old with dark hair and blue eyes. He may have been driving a Chevrolet Tahoe.
