EDISON PARK — Cook County officials are looking for a few good men — and women — to help the election set for Nov. 8 run smoothly.
Election judges can earn $125 for working on Election Day, and $45 for attending a training, according the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners. Additional pay is available for extra work, officials said.
Election judges must be at least 18 years old, be able to speak, read and write English and perform basic math skills, according to elections officials.
In addition, judges must not be candidates or precinct captains and may not be a judge in an election if he or she shares a residence with a candidate on the ballot or is a registered sex offender.
High school and college students may serve as student judges, provided they meet the criteria, officials said.
Applications are available at chipollworker.com and are due by Sept. 1.
