Englewood Shooting Kills Julius Coleman, 18, Police Say

CHICAGO — An 18-year-old man was shot to death in Englewood on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

At 2:07 p.m., the man was dropped off on the street in the 5600 block of South May Street when he heard shots fired from someone in a blue car, said Officer Michelle Tannehill, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was hit in his chest and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Tannehill said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Julius Coleman, of the 6000 block of South Green Street.

Police said he was a documented gang member.

No one was in custody.
