Anthony Hatchett, 44, Killed In Brainerd Shooting; 2 Others Wounded: Police

BRAINERD — Anthony Hatchett, 44, was killed and two men were critically wounded in a shooting on the Far South Side late Monday night, police said.

At 11:17 p.m., the three men were standing on the sidewalk in the 9400 block of South LaSalle Street when someone shot at them from a passing blue van, according to a police incident report.

Hatchett was shot in his head and brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Hatchett, of the 10600 block of South Parnell, was pronounced dead at 12:11 a.m., according to Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records.

Two other men, 28 and 30, were also brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where they were both listed in critical condition, police said.

The 28-year-old had been shot in his back, and the 30-year-old had been shot in his right arm and left leg, police said.

No one is in custody, police said.
