Group of Men Wanted in 3 Near South Side Robberies, Police Say

CHINATOWN — Police are asking Near South Side residents to look out for a group of young men they believe are behind a series of robberies late last month, according to a Thursday alert.

In each incident, the men walked up to people and demanded their belongings, police said.

The robberies were reported in the "late evening hours" at the following dates and locations:

• July 23 in the 200 block of West 29th Street

• July 24 in the 2100 block of South Archer Avenue

• July 26 in the 2400 block of South Archer Avenue

The robbers are described as up to four black men between the ages of 17 and 20, standing between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing around 150 pounds, police said.
