EVERGREEN PARK — Wojo's — the beloved hot dog stand near Brother Rice and Mother McAuley high schools — is for sale.

The price of the business at 3958 W. 99th St. in suburban Evergreen Park was dropped this week to $549,000, according to an online real estate listing. The business, building and equipment are all included in the deal.

Owner Ken Wojcicki spoke only briefly Wednesday. He founded Wojo's, which is known for its 70 varieties of shakes and malts. Exotic flavors include a banana moon pie, rum eggnog, peanut butter fluff and more.

"I'm retiring and moving to Arizona. That's the only reason, this thing makes plenty of money," said Wojcicki. The real estate listing also says he's willing to help train the new owners.

Indeed, another real estate listing stated that Wojo's gross sales were $436,000 last year. Property taxes in 2014 were $20,989, and the restaurant has six part-time and four full-time workers.

A two-bedroom house is also attached to the restaurant, but it appears this property isn't included in the deal. But the listing says there's the potential for a "work/live situation" as a result of the adjacent residence.

The restaurant with 18 booths and seating for 54 people is also known in the surrounding neighborhoods for its decor. Pictures of Little League teams that Wojo's has sponsored over the years cover the walls of the 3,200-square-foot building.

Wojo's was founded in 1978 in suburban Midlothian. Wojcicki moved to the corner of 99th Street and Pulaski Road three years later, according to published reports. The restaurant has also earned a reputation in recent years for serving buffalo, elk and ostrich burgers as well as bison dogs.

The business was first listed for sale on March 15. It was originally priced at $589,000.
