15-Year-Old Shot in Logan Square

LOGAN SQUARE — A 15-year-old boy was shot in his neck in Logan Square Tuesday night, according to police.

At 9:08 p.m., the boy was standing with a group on the sidewalk in the 2600 block of North Lawndale Avenue when someone walked up and fired multiple shots, according to Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago Police spokesman.

One bullet struck the boy in his neck before the shooter ran away, according to police.

The boy was taken to Lurie Children's Hospital and was in stable condition Tuesday night, according to police.

No one was in custody.

Police said the boy is a documented gang member.
