THE LOOP — A man with a star tattooed on his cheek and other ink between his eyes is robbing pedestrians at busy Loop corners, including right by City Hall, police said Wednesday.
In the crimes, the suspect approaches victims walking alone and either demands or "forcibly removes" their belongings, police said. The crimes occurred at:
•5 p.m. July 13 in the 100 block of West Randolph Street
•6:30 p.m. July 31 in the 300 block of South Wabash Avenue
The suspect is described as a 5-foot-10, 160-pound black man with a dark complexion, a small five-pointed star tattoo on the left side of his face, and other tattoos between his eyes.
Police did not have a photo of the suspect, and said his physical description is based on witness accounts.
