HUMBOLDT PARK — Two Chicago police officers who were responding to a shooting in Humboldt Park were injured when their squad car was hit by another vehicle Sunday night, police said.
The officers were responding to a report of a woman who was shot near the intersection of Hamlin Avenue and Division Street when the squad was hit by another vehicle about 11:21 p.m., police said.
The two officers in the squad car were both injured and taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition, according to officer Nicole Trainor, a police spokeswoman.
The squad car's lights and siren were on when the driver of a second car struck the police car, according to Trainor.
The crash also caused the police vehicle to hit a parked car, police said.
