South Chicago Shooting Wounds Man, 60, Who Wasn't Intended Target: Police

CHICAGO — A 60-year-old man was shot and wounded in South Chicago on Saturday night, police said.

At 7:55 p.m., the man was in a car in the 2800 block of East 87th Street when shots were fired, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was hit in his left leg and was taken to Trinity Hospital. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," Alfaro said.

Officers did not think the man was the intended target of the shooting, police said.

No one was in custody.
