CHICAGO — Denear Dashaun Scott, 17, was slain in a shooting in Chatham on Friday night, officials said.
At 5:45 p.m., Scott was in the 700 block of East 82nd Street when he was shot in his chest, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition and was pronounced dead.
Scott, of the 6800 block of South Aberdeen, was pronounced dead at 6:18 p.m., according to Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records.
No one was in custody.
