An organization dedicated to bringing massive slip-and-slides to cities across the country is coming to Cricket Hill on Montrose Beach, lining up three 300-foot slides on the hill. And unlike the children's slip-n-slide you probably broke already this summer, these slides "got more cushion than your grandpa’s orthopedic sneakers," Slide the City says on its website.

UPTOWN AND ANDERSONVILLE — What a weekend to be in the neighborhood: from a massive slip-n-slide to a series of neighborhood sponsored events, there's a lot to do in Uptown and Andersonville.

Here is our list of eight activities and outings in the neighborhoods this weekend:

Flosstradamus at the Aragon: Valentino Khan, Party Favor and Flosstradamus will all perform at the Aragon Ballroom Friday. Tickets to the general admission show start at $49 and are available here. 10 p.m. 1106 W. Lawrence Ave.

WFCW Garden Walk and Party: The Winona Foster Carmen Winnemac Block Club will host its annual garden walk and summer party Saturday. Start at 1450 W. Winona St. or 1246 W. Winnemac Ave. to receive a free booklet and begin your self-guided tour of more than 25 gardens in the area. Following the garden walk, head to 1441 W. Winnemac Ave. for the party, which includes activities for kids, food, beverages, raffles and fun with neighbors. Organizers ask attendees to bring a side dish to share. Free. 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Open Street Party on Magnolia: Voice of the People will host a block party Saturday featuring a youth five-on-five basketball tournament at Billy Broncho Playlot and live performances by Back In The Dayz, Elephant Rebellion and the Brickheadz Crew. The event will also have fitness demos, zumba lessons, refreshments and a bounce house. Noon-5 p.m. Saturday. 4400 block of North Magnolia Avenue. Free.

Free Concert At Wilson Abbey: Max Simmons, Erin, Families and 6'10" will all perform for free at the theater in Wilson Abbey Saturday. Donations accepted. 7 p.m. 935 W. Wilson Ave.

Halsey And Oh Wonder at the Aragon: Fresh off the release of her debut solo album "Badlands," electropop singer Halsey will make a stop at the Aragon Ballroom Saturday along with Oh Wonder. Tickets to the general admission show begin at $27 and are available here. 7:30 p.m. 1106 W. Lawrence Ave.

Once More With Feeling: Uptown Underground will host "Once More With Feeling" an evening cabaret show that'll remind us of our "teenage angst" featuring the singers of Allegrezza Friday. Tickets start at $20 and are available here. 8 p.m. 4713 N. Broadway.

Enjoy Some Close-Up Magic: Saturday, Uptown Underground will host the Chicago Magic Lounge, which takes attendees back to the days of old school magic bars. The Magic Lounge includes: close-up magic, bar magic, table hopping musicians and main stage acts. Tickets begin at $25. Saturday. 7:30 p.m. 4707 N. Broadway.

Massive Slip-N-Slide At Cricket Hill: Three 300-foot slip-n-slides with "more cushion than your grandpa’s orthopedic sneakers" will be set up at Cricket Hill at Montrose Beach Saturday for thrill seekers looking for a break from the heat. The slide is safe for kids ages 5 and up, and tickets are $30 per person. The price goes up as the event gets closer, so it'll hit $35 Saturday. Family packages are also available here. 9 a.m.-6 p.m. 4400 N. Lake Shore Dr.
