WICKER PARK — Sometimes when you're trying to catch 'em all you gotta drink 'em all.

Wicker Park's first Pokémon Go Pub Crawl will take place from 5-9 p.m. Saturday and will include stops at multiple bars in the neighborhood — along with visits to PokeStops along the way.

The bar lineup includes Emporium Arcade Bar, Pint, Fatpour Tap Works, the Boundary Tavern and Grille, the Fifty/50, Whiskey Business and Cheesies Pub & Grub.

Participants can buy $10 wristbands (available in yellow, blue and red to signify the three Pokémon teams) for free entry to all participating bars, drink specials such as Wartotle cocktails and Charmander shots, access to charging stations and a chance to enter contests and giveaways.

The organizer of the pub crawl, South Loop resident Phil Saam, 30, conceived the idea when he saw how so many people were "totally obsessed with the game" and were gathering together at big meet-ups in real life.

"I think it's a really enjoyable way to get the community together for some lighthearted fun," Saam said.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to the Greater Illinois Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to help patients suffering from the degenerative disease that can lead to severe muscle pain and even paralysis.

"It think it's a very important cause," Saam said. "Because Pokémon Go encourages people to be active and moving around, I think it has really cool benefits, and people with M.S. can take advantage of it."
