Lollapalooza Weather: It'll Be Cloudy And Rainy, But Not Too Hot

By Kelly Bauer | July 26, 2016 12:15pm

CHICAGO — It'll be a cloudy and rainy Lollapalooza weekend, but that doesn't mean the weekend's ruined.

After all, it will be cooler than it's been the last few days, said AccuWeather meteorologist Brian Wimer, and there shouldn't be a ton of rain.

"I think the weekend's looking pretty good as far as outdoor weather for a ... festival," Wimer said.

Here's a breakdown of what to expect each day of the festival:

Thursday

Chicago will most likely see some rain and thunderstorms on Thursday. Partly sunny, Thursday will peak at 81 degrees before falling to 66 degrees during the night, Wimer said.

Parts of the city could see a quarter-inch to half-inch of rain during the storms, which are expected to hit in the afternoon or evening, Wimer said.

"That could put a damper on [the festival] depending how widespread or frequent the showers are," Wimer said.

Friday

There's a chance of rain and thunderstorms on Friday, too, but the day will also be nice and cool. It'll top out at 76 degrees, and the low will be 65 degrees, Wimer said.

"Definitely not as warm as what it was recently," Wimer said.

Saturday

Saturday is expected to cloudy and partly sunny, Wimer said, with a chance of rain in the morning.

"But most of the day and evening should be dry," Wimer said.

The expected high is 80 degrees and the low is 65 degrees, Wimer said.

Sunday

Sunday will be another partly sunny day, and it will have a "very slim" chance of rain, Wimer said. It'll hit 82 degrees but fall to 66 degrees at night, Wimer said.
