CHICAGO — A 19-year-old man was shot and killed in Brighton Park Sunday afternoon, according to police.
At 3:30 p.m., the man was in the 3900 block of South Kedzie Avenue when he was shot, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago Police spokesman.
He was shot in the chest and arm and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition before being pronounced dead, Sweeney said.
The man has been identified as Gregory Chacon, of the 4300 block of South California Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. Chacon was pronounced dead at 4:25 p.m., according to the medical examiner.
Chacon was a documented gang member, according to police.
