WEST RIDGE — A 26-year-old man died after being shot in his head in West Ridge early Wednesday morning, police said. 

He was identified Thursday as Kyara Newell of the 6500 block of North Ashland Avenue in Rogers Park.

At 12:26 a.m., Newell was driving in the 2300 block of West Arthur Avenue, near the intersection of Devon and Western, when two men shot at him from the sidewalk, according to a preliminary police incident report.

Newell was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was pronounced dead at 11:15 a.m., records show.

No one is in custody, police said.
