PORTAGE PARK — Ald. Gilbert Villegas (36th) will join county and state officials to host a workshop to help homeowners appeal their property tax assessments.

Representatives of the Cook County Board of Review will be on hand at 6 p.m. Tuesday to give a presentation and answer questions at St. Stanislaus Church, 5352 N. Belden Ave. Attendees should enter on Lorel Avenue, organizers said.

Homeowners in Jefferson Park Township, which includes most of the Far Northwest Side, have until Aug. 15 to file an appeal of their property taxes, officials said.
