CHICAGO — My Block, My Hood, My City will host a citywide potluck on Saturday.

MBMHMC takes teens throughout the city, allowing them to explore neighborhoods they don't normally have access to. But this weekend, founder Jahmal Cole is instead bringing people to the South Loop for a citywide potluck.

"Our goal is to remove barriers and bring people throughout Chicago together to get to know each other and build understanding and friendship," Cole wrote on Facebook. "What better way to do that than while having a meal and giving thanks for our great city together?"

Attendees will eat and talk. The potluck is noon-3 p.m. at Vice District Brewing, 1454 S. Michigan Ave. Attendees should bring food that represents their block, Cole said.
