UPTOWN — The Institute of Cultural Affairs invites residents to explore the neighborhood's "unique identities" this weekend at the first Garden Walk.

The tours are broken down into three routes exploring 20 gardens put together by both residents and community organizations.

Those interested can join a guided tour or can use a map that will be made available at starting locations Saturday, according to a press release for the tours.

The schedule for the tours are:

• At 10 a.m., the Sidewalk Garden Tour will begin at Chase Park, 4701 N. Ashland Ave., showcasing Sheridan Park and Buena Park through its reimagined spaces like Sunnyside Mall and the Triangle Gardens.

• At 1 p.m., the Coastal Garden Tour will begin at Margate Park, 4921 N. Marine Dr., heading through the neighborhood's original coastline highlighting park and community gardens along with the restored native habitat along the lakefront.

• At 7 p.m., the Historical Garden Tour will begin at Winthrop Family Historical Garden, 4630 N. Winthrop Ave., showing where the neighborhood's history and present collide through "deep-roots" community gardens.
