ROGERS PARK — Haven't caught a Jigglypuff at the shores of Lake Michigan yet? Still not registered to vote?

Fear not, you can do both from 4-5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Pratt Beach Pier at the Pokémon Go meetup in Rogers Park, created by self-admitted "nerdy" State Rep. Kelly Cassidy (D-Chicago).

The event will also feature four lured Pokestops and popsicles, as well as a creative Pokémon picture contest. The most creative photo will get $25 in Pokecoins, while a second-place winner will receive $10 in money for the game.

Cassidy, a Rogers Park resident, said aside from recently learning to play the game (and impressing her kids), the idea for the meetup was like that of many other sponsored events meant to engage the community.

"It's ... a fun way to get folks to come out, maybe register a few new voters, get a chance to talk — but also I have started playing with my kids, too," Cassidy said. "My 15-year-old left the house in a hurry today because he spotted one on his way to the train with a, 'Bye mom, gotta run there's a (unintelligible character name) outside!' "
