DUNNING — Two Dunning businesses in the same block have been robbed by a gun wielding man, police said late Sunday.

The businesses, in the 6200 block of West Belmont Avenue near Melvina Avenue, were robbed around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday and 10:45 p.m. Saturday, police said in a community alert.

Both robberies occurred just blocks from Steinmetz High School and St. Patrick High School.

In each robbery, the man shows a handgun, goes behind the counter and clears all of the money out of the register, police said.

Police said they are looking for at least one man, either white or Hispanic, 5-foot-8-inches tall, weighing between 130 and 160 pounds with short brown or black hair. The man covered his face during the incident with a white shirt or scarf and may have worn a black mask and black cap during the incident.

Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call 312-744-8263.
