ROGERS PARK — Chicago's first "Chipotle of Mediterranean food" is expected to open in Rogers Park near Loyola University sometime in early 2017.

Dan Moon, an investor in the Clarke's Diner at 6431 N. Sheridan Road, also owns Oliv Epicurean Grill, currently with one other location in Daytona Beach, Fla.

By the first quarter of next year, Moon said he hopes to get the grill up and running near the Clarke's location on Sheridan Road, a project "already in the works."

"This is going to be really big, just wait," Moon told DNAinfo. "People are going to love this."

In similar fashion to Chipotle, patrons line up and customize bowls and wraps from a variety of grilled and seasoned Mediterranean proteins, starches and produce, Moon said.

Oliv Epicurean Grill, owned by a major investor in the Rogers Park Clarke's Diner, said he plans to open a second location of his "Chipotle of Mediterranean food" on Sheridan Road next year. The other location is currently in Daytona Beach, Fla. [Facebook/Oliv Epicurean Grill]
