PORTAGE PARK — With the weather this weekend forecast to be sunny and warm, Bike 45 will attempt to beat the heat with a 15-mile bicycle tour of Far Northwest Side ice cream shops.

Riders are scheduled to gather at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Mia's Gelato, 4200 N. Central Ave., for coffee before heading out on the ride, which will stop at Josi's Frozen Yogurt Cafe, 4032 N. Milwaukee Ave., and Molly and Myles Ice Cream, 4802 N. Central Ave., the newest offering from the husband-and-wife team behind BRGRBelly and BeefBelly. The ride will end after heading back to Mia's, organizers said.

Ald. John Arena (45th) founded Bike 45 to promote biking and bike safety in Jefferson Park and parts of Portage Park, Gladstone Park, Old Irving Park, Norwood Park and Forest Glen.

Bicyclists of all ages are welcome to ride, but children younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and adult riders are limited to supervision of no more than three children.
