PALMER SQUARE — The annual zany bike parade and party that is Tour de Fat will be back in Palmer Square this weekend.

The event which draws thousands of people to the park will include a costumed bike ride, a live game show, live music and food from local vendors.

All proceeds from the free event will go to West Town Bikes and CHIRP Radio. Last year the Chicago event raised $51,141 for the nonprofits.

Chicago 20-plus member musical group/marching band Mucca Pazza and Dr. Dog are set to perform.

New Belgium, the beer company behind the event, is still looking for a "car-for-bike swapper" who is willing to trade in his or her car for a bike as their sole means of transportation for a year.

The swapper will get a $2,250 stipend to buy the commuter bike.

Potential swappers need to submit a video explaining why they have what it takes to go car-free at newbelgium.com.
