UPTOWN — After a little more than a year at the helm of Uptown United, Sara Dinges will be stepping down from her post to return home to Pittsburgh.

Dinges, a former staff member for Ald. Harry Osterman (48th) who took over the Executive Director position in March 2015, will explore a new job opportunity back in Pittsburgh, where she'll be closer to family, according to a news release from Business Partners, the chamber for Uptown.

"Sara has been dedicated to strengthening our organizations and serving the Uptown community. From the launch of Uptown Saturday Nights, to the growth of the Argyle Night Market, to working closely with business and property owners to bring new investment to Uptown, we are thankful for Sara's contribution and impact throughout Uptown," the release said.

Martin Sorge will takeover as Executive Director of Uptown United and Business Partners. Sorge previously served as Director of Community Development for the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce, the release said.

Sorge is a resident of the 48th Ward and as an Uptown resident brings "fondness and familiarity." He holds a bachelor's degree in English and a master's in public affairs degree in economic development and public policy analysis from Indiana University, the release said.

"Martin is passionate about building vibrant, sustainable neighborhoods through smart economic and community development. We believe Martin's skill set and experience is a great match for Uptown," according to the release.

He'll take over as Executive Director on July 25.
