CHICAGO — Four people were shot — including a 5-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, in a West Englewood shooting late Monday, according to police.

The kids were playing in the 5500 block of South Hermitage Avenue at 11 p.m. Monday when two shooters appeared from a nearby gangway and opened fire, police said.

The girl was shot in her left leg and was taken to Comer Children's Hospital, where her condition was not known but police considered her to be "stable." The boy was shot in his right leg and was also taken to Comer in what police considered to be "stable" condition.

A 30-year-old woman was shot in her left leg, police said, and a 19-year-old man was also shot in his left leg. Both were able to get themselves to University of Chicago Hospital in good condition, police said.

Police believe the shooting was gang-related. No one has been arrested.
