COTTAGE GROVE HEIGHTS — A 33-year-old man was shot walking down a gangway in the 9800 block of South Ingleside Avenue, according to Chicago Police.

The shooting happened around 1:25 p.m. when someone got out of a red van with a gun and fired at the man, according to Officer Michelle Tannehill, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was shot in his hip and calf and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where police were not able to give his condition but said he was "stable."
