CHICAGO — Two separate shootings on the West Side have left a man and woman wounded, police said.

On Sunday, a 42-year-old woman was inside a house in the 1800 block of South Trumbull Avenue in North Lawndale when a bullet hit her in her chest, Lemmon said.

The woman was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where her condition was stabilized, Lemmon said.

No time for the shooting was given, police said.

At 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, a 20-year-old man was walking down the street in the 4000 block of West End Avenue in Austin when two men approached him, announced a robbery and opened fire, Lemmon said.

The man, who was shot in the leg, side, and arm, was taken to Mt. Sinai, where he was listed in fair condition, Lemmon said.
