Shooting Near Clark & Division Red Line Stop Kills Man, 26, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man was shot and killed near the Clark and Division Red Line stop on Wednesday night, police said.

At 8:09 p.m., the man was in the 1200 block of North Clark Street when a man drove up, fired shots and then drove off, said Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The victim was hit multiple times and was taken to Northwestern Hospital in critical condition, Amezaga said. He was later pronounced dead.

The man was a documented gang member and convicted felon, police said.

No one was in custody in the shooting.
