LOGAN SQUARE — A mural at the Logan Square dog park that cost thousands of dollars has already been vandalized.
The mural, which is not even complete, has been vandalized multiple times according to dog park users.
"We've all been talking about it. It's so sad," said Amelia Villa Nueva, who has been coming to the dog park since it opened in August.
The Logan Square Dog Park committee raised $15,000 to spend on the mural, which spans the length of the expressway wall that runs alongside the dog park.
The vandals who defaced multiple sections of the wall last week left a few notes including "can't wait to read all the angry hipsters comments on Reddit."
They were not wrong about the Reddit thread...
Villa Nueva said she and others who come to the dog park often feared this would happen to the mural.
"I'm like, 'no! why?" she said. "I felt so bad for the group of people who have been coming, giving their time. When does it end?"
