MAGNIFICENT MILE — Sugarfina, a self-described "candy boutique" specializing in gummies that taste like champagne and beer, will debut Downtown Friday, according to employees.

The sweets will be sold from a small kiosk near the front entrance of Norstrom Michigan Ave., 55 E. Grand Ave.

Sugarfina's candies are divided into alcoholic and nonalcoholic collections, according to spokeswoman Tate Tuckman.

Despite their flavor, the gummies won't get you drunk, Tuckman said. However, the "scotch malt cordials," pockets of dark chocolate, do have a shot of scotch whiskey inside each one.

The handmade candies will be sold in clear plastic cubes, ranging in price from $7.50 to $65 each, Tuckman said. Each cube includes 15 to 20 pieces of candy.

The Los Angeles-based company is fresh off its grand opening in New York last week, which saw customers clamoring for its soon-to-debut rosé-flavored gummy bears. More than 350 people were on a waiting list for the gummies as of Monday. Customers can ask at the store to add their names, Tuckman said.
