SOUTH SHORE — Two men were shot, one fatally, in South Shore on Monday afternoon, police said.

Around 2:05 p.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 7400 block of South South Shore Avenue, where they found two men with gunshot wounds, according to Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago Police spokesman.

One man, 20, was unconscious with gunshot wounds in his head, arm and abdomen, Sweeney said. He was pronounced dead on scene.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

The other man, 18, was brought to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound in his armpit, Sweeney said. Police could not provide his condition but said he was "stable."

No one was in custody, police said.
