GRAND CROSSING — A 30-year-old man died after being shot inside a gas station in Grand Crossing early Sunday morning, police said.

Around 4:25 a.m., the man was standing at the counter of a gas station in the 7200 block of South South Chicago Avenue when a man walked in and shot him before fleeing, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

After the shooting, the man was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Estrada said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Selton Ellis, of the same block.

No one is in custody, police said.
