Back Of The Yards Shooting Leaves Man Wounded, Police Say

CHICAGO — A shooting in Back of the Yards left a 23-year-old man wounded on Friday morning, police said.

At 2:04 a.m., the man was driving in the 4800 block of South Racine Avenue when a car with four men pulled up alongside him, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The men flashed gang signs and fired shots.

The victim was hit in his torso. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, Lemmon said.

No one was in custody.
