ARMOUR SQUARE — The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson is coming to 75 Chicago Park District swimming pools Friday.

The 60-minute lesson runs from 6-7 p.m. at selected locations all over Chicago and the globe.

The event will attempt to break a Guinness World Record and is open to all ages and swim levels. Children under 6 need to have an adult with them in the water.

Swimmers can register online until Friday, but on-site registration will begin at 5 p.m.

Organizers advise swimmers to show up 30 minutes before the start of the event to fill out a required release waiver.

The world record for largest swimming lesson included 36,564 participants, set by the World Waterpark Association at 480 locations in 22 countries in June 2014.
