AUBURN GRESHAM — A 35-year-old man was killed and a 22-year-old woman was hurt in a shooting on the Far South Side early Wednesday morning, police said.

The man and woman were sitting on a porch in the 8800 block of South Ada Street when a man emerged from a nearby gangway and shot at them before fleeing, according to Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was shot in his neck and foot and brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Lemmon said.

Police said the man was a documented gang member.

The woman was brought to Little Company of Mary Hospital with a graze wound in her foot, Lemmon said. Police could not provide her condition but said she was "stable."

No one is in custody, Lemmon said.
