UPTOWN — Uptown's Baker and Nosh is moving, but they're not leaving the neighborhood — or even Wilson Avenue.

The cafe at 1303 W. Wilson Ave., which opened in 2012, will move to the former Starbucks space at the corner of Wilson and Magnolia avenues this fall, according to a news release from Baker and Nosh.

The Starbucks closed in March, saying "it was best to close" the business after evaluating the business "to ensure a healthy portfolio."

The move comes as a part of a larger expansion effort from Baker and Nosh, which will also open an Edgewater space this year. The larger space will enhance the bakery and cafe experience, owners said.

“This location offers more space with just over 2,000 square feet and room for 50 seats,” says co-owner Terry Groff. “The extra space will allow for a more efficient layout, making it much easier for folks in a rush to stop by the bakery for coffee and a pastry to-go.”

The new location will have updated decor, an outdoor patio, a larger selection of menu items and a La Combe Draft Latte station, the release said.
