ROGERS PARK — A 50-year-old man's body was pulled from Lake Michigan near Loyola Beach Sunday as dozens of community members gathered at the lakefront for an arts festival.

The man's body was recovered at 3:04 p.m. in the water near the 1000 block of West Pratt Boulevard, said Officer Anna Pacheco, a police spokeswoman.

It's not currently known how long the man is believed to have been in the water, Pacheco said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office has not released the man's identity.

People had gathered for the 23rd Annual Artists of the Wall festival.
