By Alex Nitkin | June 20, 2016 9:44am

NORTH LAWNDALE — A 27-year-old man was found dead in a public pool on the West Side early Monday morning, police said.

Around 12:50 a.m., officers found the man floating in the pool inside Franklin Park, 1400 S. Kolin Ave., according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Estrada said.

A police source said the man was observed climbing the park's fence after it closed, then jumping into the pool.

The man was believed to be highly intoxicated, police added.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Cordero Little, of the same block.

A death investigation is underway, Estrada said.
