Park Manor Shooting Kills Michael Brown, 23, Police Say

PARK MANOR — A 23-year-old man was found shot to death in a car in Park Manor on Saturday evening, police said.

Around 6:30 p.m., witnesses heard gunshots in the 7300 block of South Champlain Avenue then found the man sitting in a car with a gunshot wound in his chest, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Estrada said.

The man was identified as Michael A. Brown, of the 3200 block of Holden Circle in Matteson, according to Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. Brown was pronounced dead at 6:58 p.m. from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.

Police said the man was a documented gang member.

No one is in custody, police said.
