CHICAGO — Dozens of Chicago restaurants serve items on their menus for those looking for halal food in Chicago.

The Muslim holiday of Ramadan began June 5 and continues until July 5. But the holiday, in which Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset, isn't the only time Muslims seek out meats that are slaughtered according to specific Islamic standards.

Not all items on the menus at restaurants on this map are halal, so be sure to ask restaurants what is and what isn't halal.

While there are halal restaurants across Chicago, many are concentrated in West Ridge and around Downtown.

Let us know if we missed your favorite halal restaurant.
