Uptown Shooting Wounds 2 Men Standing Outside, Police Say

CHICAGO — An Uptown shooting left two men wounded early Friday, police said.

At 3 a.m., the men, ages 22 and 24, were on the sidewalk in the 1100 block of West Leland Avenue when they heard shots and felt pain, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The 24-year-old man was hit in his right leg and the 22-year-old man was hit in his left leg. They were taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in good condition, Pacheco said.

The 24-year-old was a documented gang member, police said.

No one was in custody in the shooting.
