SmallFry, Burgers And Fries, Opens In Logan Square

LOGAN SQUARE — A new burger and fries shop that will cater to a late-night crowd in Logan Square opened over the weekend.

SmallFry's menu is fairly straightforward with four items: a burger, a chicken sandwich, a veggie burger and fries.

What the owners hope sets it apart is the huge selection of flavor options for both the chicken sandwiches and the fries.

Seasoning for the fries include "Cooler Ranch," umami dust, everything, togarashi and jalapeno cheddar. Sauce options include roasted garlic, malt, sweet & spicy, black truffle and something called "awesome."

SmallFry also makes its own cheese sauces: blue buffalo, house, baked potato and queso for the fries.

A rotating set of specials will change each month. The first month's specials include a corn dog, poutine and a salad.

The restaurant will also offer milkshakes, pop and cold-brew coffee.

Single burgers are $5 plus a dollar for cheese, while doubles will be $8.

The chicken sandwich is $8, veggie burger $7 and fries will be $3.

"We are trying to make fast food interesting again," said Egan Quinn, owner of Small Fry, 2491 N. Milwaukee Ave.

There is also a shark hanging from the ceiling and lots to look at on the walls from Chicago artists.

The 20-seat restaurant is having a soft opening Saturday and Sunday.

A grand opening is set for Tuesday.

Business hours are 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. until 10 or 11 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday. The restaurant will be closed Wednesdays.
