HUMBOLDT PARK — Do not be alarmed. The Flying Saucer has not disappeared forever.

Although the business is currently closed and unrecognizable from the exterior, contractors at the site Tuesday said it only temporary.

The restaurant at 1123 N. California Ave. is undergoing extensive renovations including to the sign, but will remain the Flying Saucer, according to workers.

The owners of the breakfast and lunch spot are on vacation, according to the construction crew, and couldn't be reached for comment.

The restaurant is expected to open back up in the next week or two, according to the workers.
