Apartment Buildings Burglarized On 111th Street, Police Say

MORGAN PARK — Burglars have struck three apartment buildings on 111th Street in Morgan Park, according to a community alert issued by the Chicago Police Department.

The burglar or burglars entered the buildings through the front doors. The apartment buildings are all between Bell Avenue and Longwood Drive, according to police.

Five residences have been burglarized in the spree that began April 7. The most recent burglary occurred Tuesday. All of the robberies take place during the daytime hours when the residents are at work, police said.

The burglars hit:

• One apartment April 7 in the 11100 block of South Hoyne Avenue

• Two apartments June 3 in the 11100 block of South Bell Avenue

• Two apartments Tuesday in the 11100 block of South Longwood Drive

Police advised apartment residents against "buzzing in" any unknown visitors. They are also asking anyone with any information about the burglaries to call detectives at 312-747-8273.
