73-Year-Old Man Shot In The Face In South Shore, Police Say

SOUTH SHORE — A man was wounded in a shooting in South Shore, police said. 

At 2:49 p.m., a 73-year-old man was in his car when someone in a dark-colored SUV shot at him in the 6700 block of South Jeffery Ave., said Officer Michelle Tannehill, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. 

The man, who was shot in his right cheek bone, was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in good condition, Tannehill said.

The man was not the intended target, police said.

No one is in custody for the shooting, Tannehill said.
